Full MEND™ method · Establish leads

The gut-brain axis
is not a metaphor.
It is a fibre.

Foggy mornings, mood drift, the steady hum of low-grade stress no caffeine fixes. Most of the body's serotonin is made in the gut. The MEND Method works at the upstream end of the conversation.
Your symptoms route through

Foundation

Brain & Mood routes through Establish (reseed) and Nourish (feed). Foundation is the lightest entry — most customers start here and add Nourish phase after.

The mechanism

Why Brain, Mood & Behaviour routes through the gut.

Brain, Mood & Behaviour

The gut is sometimes called the second brain — but the real story is closer to a continuous conversation. The vagus nerve runs between them. Neurotransmitters are produced by gut flora. Inflammation in the gut shows up in mood within hours.

The vagus nerve is the cable. It runs from the gut to the brainstem and carries signals both ways. Studies that disrupt this nerve show changes in mood and stress response within days. The conversation is constant, automatic, and biochemical.

Gut flora produce neurotransmitters directly. Around 90% of the body's serotonin and a significant portion of GABA, dopamine, and noradrenaline are made by bacteria in the gut. When the flora is depleted, the upstream input to mood regulation gets thinner.

Inflammation travels. Low-grade gut inflammation triggers cytokine release that crosses the blood-brain barrier and shows up as brain fog, mood drift, and slowed cognition. The MEND Method's Establish and Nourish phases work directly here — reseeding the strains that produce neurotransmitters, and feeding the ecosystem that keeps inflammation low.

Felt outcomes

What it feels like when the work is doing its job.

Body-led signals customers report when the protocol is settling. Descriptive, not promises.

These are descriptive, not promises. Customer-reported felt outcomes from people in the Establish and Nourish phases of the protocol for Brain & Mood concerns — the ambient changes that show up when the work is doing its job. Body-led signals, not symptom claims.

  • 01

    Mornings feel less heavy.

The first hour of the day stops requiring a chemical fix. The fog isn't gone — it just lifts faster.

  • 02

    Mood drift becomes less sticky.

The dip still arrives. It just stops settling in for the afternoon.

  • 03

    Stress lands and leaves.

Stressors still happen. The body absorbs them and resets quicker — what was a three-day weight becomes a three-hour one.

  • 04

    Cognition holds through the afternoon.

The 3pm cliff softens. The work you started in the morning still feels accessible at 4.

Phase routing

How Brain, Mood & Behaviour moves through the MEND Method.

Each phase carries weight differently for Brain, Mood & Behaviour. The lead phase is where most customers start; off phases either come later or are optional.

  1. Mineralise

Not the lead. Some customers benefit from a brief Mineralise prep but it's optional for this concern.

  2. Establish · lead

Where it starts. HPI strains in Probiotic Sachets and Yogurt are the source of neurotransmitter production.

    Phase page
  3. Nourish

The carry-through. Prebiotic Syrup feeds the ecosystem that produces SCFAs — anti-inflammatory inputs to the brain.

    Phase page
  4. Defend

Maintenance once the work has settled. Not the lead for this concern.

Working with a practitioner

Some brain, mood & behaviour conversations belong in a clinic.

If you're navigating something complex — autoimmune, fertility, post-partum, an existing condition — our practitioner network is trained on the MEND protocol and ready for that conversation.

One method, six doors

One protocol.
Every concern.

Brain, Mood & Behaviour routes through the same MEND Method as the other five concerns. Your symptoms are downstream signals of an upstream depletion we can address.
